Google AdWords & Google AdWords Conversion Tracking
Our website uses Google AdWords. AdWords is an online advertising program from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
Our website uses the “Google AdWords Conversion Tracking” function of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
Google AdWords Conversion Tracking uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website if you have clicked on a Google advert. The cookies are effective for a maximum of 90 days. Personal information is not stored in the process. For as long as the cookie is effective, Google and we as website operators can recognise that you have clicked on an advert and reached a specified target page (e.g. order confirmation page, newsletter subscription). These cookies cannot be tracked across multiple websites by different AdWords users. The cookie compiles conversion statistics in “Google AdWords”.
These statistics record the number of users who have clicked on one of our ads. They also count how many users have reached a target page that has been given a “conversion tag”. These statistics do not contain any data by which you can be identified, however.
You can prevent the storage of cookies on your hard drive and the placing of adverts by web beacons by selecting “do not accept cookies” in your browser settings (In MS Internet Explorer under “Extras > Internet Options > Data Protection > Preference”; in Firefox under “Extras > Preferences > Data Protection > Cookies”); however, deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of our website.
By using this website, you are agreeing to the processing of the data collected by Google about you in the ways described above and for the purposes also described above. You can find further information on how Google conversion-data is used and Google’s data protection policy at: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/.
Google Adsense
Our website uses Google Adsense, a web advertisement service of Google Inc., USA (“Google”).
Google Adsense uses so-called “cookies” (text files), which are stored on your computer enabling analysis of your use of the website. Google Adsense also uses so-called “web beacons” (tiny invisible graphics) for collecting information. Through the use of web beacons, simple activities such as visitor traffic to the website are recodred and collected.
The information produced by a cookie and/or web beacon on your use of this website (including your IP address) is transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information to analyze your use of the website with regard to adverts, to compile reports on website activities and to put together adverts for the website operator and to provide other services related to the use of the website and the internet. Google will also transfer this information to third parties where appropriate, if this is legally required or if third parties are processing this data on behalf of Google. Google will never associate your IP address with other Google data.
Google Remarketing & Targeting
Our Website uses the Remarketing or “Similar Target Groups” function of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, United States (“Google”).
This means you can be targeted with displays of personalized ads related to your interests when you visit other websites in the so-called “Google Display Network”. “Google Remarketing” or the “Similar Target Groups” function uses so-called “cookies” for this, text files that are stored on your computer and enable analysis of your use of the website. These text files record your visits and anonymized data on use of the website. They do not store personal information.
If you visit another website in the so-called “Google Display Network”, you may be shown adverts that are highly likely to take into account product and information areas that were previously called up on our website. You can prevent the “Google Remarketing” or “Similar Target Groups” functions by disallowing the storage of cookies with the appropriate setting in your browser software. However, in this case you may not be able to use all the functions of this website fully.
You can also prevent Google collecting and processing the data produced by the cookie and related to your use of the website by downloading and installing the browser plug-in from the following link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin?hl=en, You can also deactivate the use of cookies by third parties by calling up the deactivation pages of the Network Advertising Initiative at www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ and implementing the further opt-out information cited there. You can find Google’s data protection policy on Remarketing with further information here: http://www.google.de/policies/privacy/ads/.
Google Tag Manager (GTM)
Google Tag Manager (“GTM”) is a tag management system to manage JavaScript and HTML tags used for tracking and analytics on websites. Tags are small code elements that, among other things, are used to measure traffic and visitor behavior: to understand the effect of online advertising and social channels; to set up remarketing and orientation towards target groups; and to test and optimize websites. GTM makes it easier for us to integrate and manage our tags. We use GTM on our website to include the following tracking tools:
● Google Analytics
● Facebook Conversion Pixels
● Twitter audiences
f you have performed deactivation, GTM takes this deactivation into account. For more information about GTM’s privacy practices can be found at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en and terms of use at https://www.google.com/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/.
Facebook conversion pixels
We use the “Custom Audience pixel” of Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”) on our website. With its help, we can keep track of what users do after they see or click on a Facebook advertisement. This enables us to monitor the effectiveness of Facebook ads for purposes of statistics and market research. Data collected in this way is anonymous to us, which means we cannot see the personal data of individual users. However, this data is saved and processed by Facebook. Facebook can connect this data with your Facebook account and use it for its own advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Policy which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. You can allow Facebook and its partners to place ads on and outside of Facebook. A cookie can also be saved on your device for these purposes.
Please click here if you would like to withdraw your consent https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads#_=_
Twitter tailored audiences
Tailored audiences is the tool of Twitter Inc., 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA, https://twitter.com (“Twitter”), used to target existing users and customers to create remarketing campaigns. Targeting activity can include directly reaching out to users or visitors to the ThoughtWorks website and campaign pages and/or retargeting previous customer lists. Twitter sets a minimum size limit for a tailored audience to 500 users. If the tailored audience does not match 500 Twitter users, it will display as “audience too small” and will not be available for targeting. Details about Twitter’s policies for conversion tracking and tailored audiences can be found at https://business.twitter.com/en/help/ads-policies/other-policy-requirements/policies-for-conversion-tracking-and-tailored-audiences.html.
The collection, storage and analysis of data and cookies stated above is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1) lit. f GDPR. As website operators, software developers and internet and website security consultants we have a legitimate interest in the collection and analysis of said data in order to optimize our website’s experience, analyze our website’s users’ behavior, monitor and maintain our website and infrastructure security as well as to monitor and optimize the effectiveness of our advertising efforts.
